Hot stamping process: Hot stamping is a process based on heat, pressure, and the colour. A hot stamping die with the image to be transferred onto the printed surface is preheated to the application temperature. A predried hot stamping foil is then placed between the die and the substrate. The hot die is pressed to the substrate with just enough pressure to transfer the colour. An embossing along the image contour can be achieved, if the substrate permits this (as is the case with e.g. wooden boxes for chocolate candies). Other names of this process in colloquial or regional use include hot printing or gold tooling. If you want to know more about hot stamping, ask about a training session Keller can deliver at its headquarters. By providing a cycle of essential training modules, we support our recurring and prospective customers.
